We are excited with you as you read this! Having visitors from around the world greatly enriches the lives of the children and lets them know that people care about them. It also is common to hear from recent visitors that meeting the children was the “best” or “most memorable” part of their trip to Bali. Below are some questions and answers that will be helpful to you as you begin to plan your visit.
Where are we located? About 30 to 45 minutes north of the Kuta area. Please go the the “Map to the Orphanage” page to see a detailed map and more helpful tips. You can also arrange transportation here on our “Transportation In Bali” page.
When is the best time to visit? You can stop in any time if you are already in the area, visitors are always welcome. If you would like to be sure that the children are not busy or in school, then after 1pm during the week is a good time. On the weekends and holidays, some of the children are away with friends or extended family but there will usually be about 20 or more that will still be there.
Can I bring my children? Yes! Please do! Children are always the first to break through the language barrier and usually end up playing with the kids here right away. There is a small playground, ping pong tables, and a basketball court that will give them plenty of opportunity to get to know each other and have some fun.
Can I bring something to give? Donations etc. Donations of all sorts are always appreciated. New or slightly used clothes, toys, sports equipment, school supplies, toiletries etc. are all things that can be used. Financial donations can be given directly to any of the Sisters. Monetary donations are very useful as it allows the Sisters to buy exactly what the children need including medicine, vitamins, food etc. You will receive a signed and stamped receipt with the amount of your donation. If you are coming with an guide or driver, even if they tell you they are an “official guide” etc. please do not give them donations to pass on to the staff but give the donations directly yourselves.
Can I volunteer, work or teach at the orphanage? Yes, but you must first meet in person with the head Sister and arrange with her directly. (Currently it is Sister Clemencia) It is not possible to make arrangements over the phone or online as this is their policy to ensure the children’s safety.
